On Friday 1st May the Leader of the Council visited Sunderland Care and Support to pay tribute to the staff for the vital services they provide.
Cllr Graeme Miller met colleagues from across the company and expressed his gratitude for the care and support being provided to people across Sunderland during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Cllr Miller spoke openly about the ways in which he and his family have adapted to ‘Lockdown’ whilst acknowledging the detrimental impact on many individuals and families as a result of the situation.
He thanked SCAS colleagues for their continued support of the most vulnerable citizens of Sunderland during this time.

Cllr Miller shared his views on issues relating to the pandemic which he has spoken about on his Facebook page. He also gave colleagues the opportunity to ask him any questions, one colleague said “Thank you for the ‘thank you’”.
During Cllr Miller’s visit he popped into a socially-distanced training session for colleagues on the donning and doffing of PPE.
