Sunderland Care and Support Ltd was established by Sunderland City Council as a Local Authority Trading Company on 1st December 2013 and is the only shareholder of the company.
Sunderland Care and Support’s purpose is to be a trusted provider of outstanding social and health care services which help to transform people’s lives. Our vision is reflected in the organisation’s value and guides our decision making and the way we work with customers, commissioners of services and our partners.
As a care provider who is regulated by the Care Quality Commission we comply with the Health and Social Care Act (regulated activities) Regulations 2014 and the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009.
Sunderland City Council, trading as Sunderland Care and Support, is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide regulated activities for customers requiring Personal Care within a number of registered residential and other domiciliary settings.
Six of our eight services are currently rated ‘good’ with Grindon Lane Short Break Service having outstanding features.
