Infection Control Update

SUNDERLAND CARE AND SUPPORT issued a revised COVID-19 Infection Control policy on 22nd May 2020. 

This is a summary of the guidance and all SCAS staff should ensure they read the full guidance.

The key changes are:

•  Amendment: Update to direct adult social care guidance detailing amendments to the required PPE in supported living services. This now follows the recommendations set out in the Domiciliary Care and Care Homes Government guidance documents. PPE for all adult direct care is now standard across the service.

•  Addition to policy: Safe working in Childrens social care

•  Addition to policy: PPE for aerosol generating procedures

• Addition to policy: Laundry requirements

• Amendment: Update of standard operating procedures to reflect new PPE position.
