We are delighted to welcome customers back to our short breaks and day services and are saddened that we are unable to extend our offer to everyone who previously attended.
We are unable to resume normal service delivery due to the restrictions of the Coronavirus pandemic and have worked closely with Adult Social Care (ASC) who have identified those customers who will be offered a service based on individual needs and risk assessments.
This is reviewed on a weekly basis and since reopening we have slightly expanded the service offer to a few more customers based on these assessments from ASC, but we have to do so with caution as we are seeing a rise in COVID cases both regionally and nationally.
The identified customers being offered a service are adjusting to a significantly reduced offer, with the maximum number of days anyone receiving in the day service being 1 to 2 days and bookings at our short breaks being managed differently, with strict guidance and processes on admission groups and duration of stays.
These measures significantly impact on how we operate and on the number of customers able to access the services at any one time, the reduced offer identified customers have received is to allow the maximum number of people an opportunity to access a portion of their availability in each service.
We hope you understand the complexity and risk in delivering these services to some of our most vulnerable customers and that you can be assured that we are working tirelessly to increase the offer in the safest possible way based on advice from Public Health England and Government guidelines.
