•  Globally 3,588,773 cases (71,463) and 247,503 deaths (4,102 new).

As at 6th May 2020:

•   In the UK there were 201,101 cases (6,111 new) and 30,076 deaths (649 new)

•   In the North East there were 8,395 cases (74 new)

•   In Sunderland there were 1,227 cases (4 new)

Dedicated app for social care workers launched

A new dedicated app for the adult social care workforce in England has been launched to support staff through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Over 1 million food boxes delivered to those most at risk from coronavirus

Over 1 million boxes of essential food have now been delivered to those at highest risk across England, with more than 290,000 boxes being distributed every week and 330,000 delivered in the last week. More details here.
