Nicole Porter – Reablement Service Worker

I previously worked in a factory that makes plastics, as a team leader.

I joined Sunderland Care and Support in June 2016 after returning from maternity leave in a previous job.

I am now part of the Reablement Service, working in the Washington community. I support people to retain or regain their skills, confidence and independence so they can learn to manage again after a period of illness or hospital stay.

This service is provided in the customer’s own home, so somewhere they feel comfortable and familiar with.

It is so rewarding meeting new people and motivating them to achieve the goals they wish to meet and being part of their journey.
